The wait is over! On October 16, Class Act, the documentary feature film on the state of arts education in America’s schools, became available. For those of you who haven’t heard, Class Act tells the story of Jay W. Jensen, Miami Beach’s legendary teacher to the stars, a public school drama teacher who launched the careers of Andy Garcia, Roy Firestone, director Brett Ratner, and countless others both in and out of show business.
An educationally enhanced version of Class Act also became available to order in October. This version features six 15 minute teaching modules taken from the film and appropriate for the classroom, arts organization meeting, or school board meeting. Our very own President and CEO Bob Lynch is one of the featured speakers.
The filmmakers are also currently available to speak to your school or organization and to help you with your promotion and advocacy efforts to advance art and arts education. To learn more about Class Act, order a copy of the DVD, or to book a speaking engagement, please visit www.ClassActTheMovie.com.
